Do you offer service for both residential and commercial customers?
Yes. We provide a full service for residential customers needing temporary or long-term storage. For our commercial customers, we offer more sophisticated services such as International shipping though FEDEX, courier services, business addresses, fax and voicemail numbers, printing services, palette shipping within North America, and offsite warehousing for customers needing 2,000-20,000 square feet.
How long is the lease for?
Our leases are established on a monthly basis. They automatically renew until you inform us of cancellation. Cancellation of contract requires 14 days notice. Yearly leases are also available.
Are there any restrictions on the goods I may store?
Yes. We do not allow the storage of animals, plants, foods, garbage, liquids, hazardous materials, illegal items or odorous goods.
Does Stor-Wel charge by the month or for a 28-day cycle?
We charge for a one-month period. In January, your rent will cover 31 days and in June, it will cover 30. Though this may seem obvious, many competing facilities charge for 28-day months. All those missing days force customers to pay for a 13th month of rent every year. We charge on the basis of calender months.
Do you offer vehicle storage?
We will allow seasonal storage of motorcycles as long as the tank is drained of oil. We do not offer storage of cars, boats or other vehicles.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept MasterCard®, Visa® and American Express®. Debit cards are also accepted.
Can I pay my bills online?
No. Although we offer online rentals and online reservations, we do not offer online payments.
How do I move my things inside the facility?
Moving within our facility is a lot easier than moving inside a home. At our site right off highway 40, there are 2 shipping docks with leveling platforms for trucks of all sizes as well as indoor parking for cars and vans. We also offer free use of moving carts, appliance dollies and palette lifters. After parking, you take your goods, put them onto carts and move the cart to your locker, where you store your goods. Moving and packing supplies are also available at our office.
What do I do if my access key does not work?
If your access key does not work, you must contact the manager. Your key will not work if there is a balance owing on your account or If you are trying to access the facility outside of your access hours.You can contact the manager by visiting our office or by calling us at 514-721-1717.
What are the access hours?
The access hours are from 8:30AM - 8:00PM Monday to Friday and 9:00AM - 5:00PM weekends. 24-hour and extended access programs are available at the customer’s request.
What are the office hours?
Our office is open from 8:30AM - 7:00PM Monday to Friday and from 10:00AM - 5:00PM Saturdays. We are occasionally open Sundays
What’s the difference between office hours and access hours?
The office hours are the hours of operation for the property. During these hours the Store Manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. The access hours are the hours of the property, and when your unit can be accessed. If you require access outside of our standard gate hours ask the Store Manager for information about 24-hour access or extended hours.
Can anyone go onto the property?
No. Only customers with an access key can enter the property.
How are my goods protected at Stor-Wel?
Our security system is truly state-of-the-art and we take great pride in providing superior protection. Each of our customers is given an electronic access key that identifies who they are, which regions of the buildings they may access and at what time they may access it. What’s more, this electronic key also integrates with the alarm system of the building. Our alarm system is truly unique in that every locker in the facility is alarmed. By using your electronic access key, you deactivate your own alarm. Exit staircase doors and exterior doors are alarmed as well. We also use magnetic locking mechanisms on all exterior doors to prevent outsiders from getting into the building. In addition, we have dozens of motion sensing video cameras that track movement on the premises.
Have you ever had a customer complain about burglary?
No. We have never had a customer complain about burglary.
Are my goods insured with Stor-Wel?
Insurance is available to our storage customers through Cowan Insurance Brokers directly from our office. If you already have home insurance, you may be able to transfer your existing insurance policy to the storage unit. Our insurance policy covers fire, water damage, burglary and a variety of other unlikely catastrophes.
What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?
We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Sizes range from 15 square feet, to 1200 square feet. Determining the right size is easy with the help of our online size estimator and the help of our Store Managers who are trained to assist you in this process.
Do you have moving supplies for sale on site?
Yes. We sell a variety of packing supplies onsite including boxes, tape, moving blankets, dish-packing paper, mattress covers and more.
Is your facility climate controlled?
Our facility is heated during the winter and naturally cooled during the summer. The temperature in the building is usually between 65 and 75 degrees.
Are there vermin at your facility?
No. We do not have any insects, rodents or other pests in the building. We have an exterminator that comes in periodically to check for pests.
How far in advance can I book a reservation?
We give you the flexibility to book a reservation up to 6 months in advance on most unit sizes.
How should I package my goods?

Do you have shelving available?
Yes. Stor-Wel currently has a wide variety of metal shelving in stock. We have professional document shelving systems (5-7 shelves of 34“x44”) as well as common sizes like 24“x36”, 30“x36” and 12“x36”. We can rent, sell and install shelving in your unit. Visit us for pricing.
Are there any limitations if I want to move on Canada day or Saint-Jean Baptiste?
It is possible to move on Saint-Jean Baptiste but you must sign the lease beforehand. Our office is closed June 24th and we cannot take payments or sign contracts.
Most storage facilities in Montreal are closed for Canada Day. We are open July 1st from 9AM to 4PM. At this time, you can sign a contract, make payments and move your goods into storage.
If you are an existing client of Stor-Wel and you intend to move your goods out of storage on June 29, June 30 or July 1 2013, call us before moving for a list of special conditions that will be in effect on those days.
